Treatment & Maintenance
Instructions
Wood is a living material that will age beautifully over time when treated correctly. Here are a few things to consider:
Sunlight
Long exposure to sunlight can discolor and dry out the wood. Find a place where the lamp isn’t exposed to too much direct sunlight.
Air temperature
Hot air temperature from heat sources can cause cracks in the wood. Keep your lamp in distance to wood stoves, radiators etc.
Humidity
A humid environment can cause the wood to bend. Don’t place your lamp in a room with high or fluctuating humidity.
Maintenance
Wood
Use a hard wrung, soft cotton cloth to remove spots. Never leave the surface wet. In case of scratches or stains, use fine sandpaper (grit 280 or higher) and treat with liquid beeswax (follow manufacturer’s instructions).
Brass
Touch only with gloves to keep clean.
To remove any spots, use a hard wrung, soft cotton cloth. Never leave the surface wet after cleaning.
For polished brass, use a brass polishing agent. Always use a dry cloth to clean the surface after treatment.
